The MV8720/30 is a programmable Mobile Multimedia Processor (MMP) designed to handle media functions for applications such as media-rich mobile phone handsets. The MV8720’s fully programmable multimedia processing platform offers cost efficiency and high performance while providing handset developers with a low power, highly integrated solution.Fully programmable, the MV8720/30 provides high performance media processing - offloading the handset baseband processor, or operating as a stand-alone media processor. Features include H.264/AVC video playback at up to QVGA 30 fps, MPEG-4 video playback at up to D1 30 fps, encode up to VGA 15 fps, Digital still image capture supporting sensors up to 8 M pixels, On-screen display overlay, rotation, and TV output.
The MV8720/30 may also be used as a standalone processor for applications such as personal media players/recorders as well as a typical multi-media enabled handsets.
