MV8620 is a specialized integrated circuit that encompasses efficient CAMERA functions, MPEG4 simple profile level 3 compliant codec functions, 3D acceleration and various AUDIO Codec with software application process for mobile platforms.It minimizes the main processor’s workload and provides 30fps@QVGA of preview. It executes hardware based real-time JPEG compression as well as MPEG4 data processing, 3D acceleration and software application processing.
In order to provide a diverse and dynamic menu and PIP functions in preview mode, EZ-OSD technology has been implemented. EZ-OSD technology frees the host from confinement of MV8620’s timing limitations and instead allows it to randomly access the OSD memory. By administering 2D graphic functions, it allows for easy 2D/3D game execution.
MV8620 works as a multimedia processor by lessening the responsibilities of the host, supporting the application software, and allowing feasibility of additional functions.
